Scary Spice Mel B in New Costa Bingo TV Advert

Ex –Spice Girl Mel B can be seen scarily larger than life on a TV screen near you as she stars in the latest TV campaign from Costa Bingo.

The new Godzilla themed £12 million multimedia marketing campaign features Mel B as the lead, towering over key London iconic buildings and sending frightened Londoners running for cover.

The ad which was first aired on New Year’s Day will run across primetime TV and is aimed at ensuring Costa Bingo becomes one of the UK’s biggest online bingo brands.  2014 is being set up as a key year for the brand in terms of scaling the business and driving new players to the site.

Mel B is seen by Costa’s owners BGO Entertainment as the right girl for the job in terms of personality and profile.  The ad introduces the new line “Jackpots so big, it’s scary’ and in terms of celebrity endorsement demonstrates a great fit with Mel’s old Spice Girl nickname.

‘Would I like to stand 200ft tall over London? Er, yes – of course I jumped at the chance! I’ve always had a larger than life personality, but this is a new level, even for me’ Mel B said about her new commercial relationship.

‘Where I grew up in Leeds, bingo was part of community life and a real Friday night ritual. Of course the bingo callers helped make the experience. I love performing to a crowd, but have never been a caller; so it’s great for me to be part of the Costa Bingo fun.’

The full on high profile campaign demonstrates BGO Entertainment’s commitment to the Costa brand and its determination to take the site to the next level.
